A Brief History

Woopra has been quietly under development for over a year and has thousands of man-hours worth of passionate work behind it. With the application reaching maturity, and after extensive Alpha testing, Woopra was unveiled as a closed Beta at WordCamp Dallas on March 29, 2008.

200 invitations were distributed to attendees, and celebrity blogger Cali Lewis conducted a video interview with John Pozadzides in conjunction with a live demonstration. The interview was published online and within hours the viral spread of the launch reached GeekBrief, TechCrunch, Mashable, and thousands of other sites - bringing millions of visitors overnight.

Our People

Jad Younan, Chief Technology Officer

Jad Younan is the co-founder and a lead developer of Woopra. Jad is a graduate of the Lebanese American University with a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering.

Jad is responsible for all infrastructure and engineering for the systems that power Woopra, and when he’s not slaving away over a hot keyboard you might catch a glimpse of him racing down a snowy mountain on a freshly waxed set of skis.

John Pozadzides, Chief Executive Officer

John Pozadzides is a sales and marketing professional with over a decade of experience within the IP and applications hosting industry, who serves as Chief Marketing Officer for Layered Technologies.

Prior to joining Layered Technologies, he served as Vice President of SAVVIS Communications in Herndon, VA and also as Director of North American Sales and Strategic Alliances for Cable & Wireless USA.

Elie Khoury, Chief Information Officer

Elie Khoury is the co-founder and a lead developer of Woopra. Elie is a graduate of the Lebanese American University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

Elie is primarily responsible for Woopra’s outstanding client software, and if you’re lucky you might be able to talk the “King of Blues” into busting out his Ibanez electric guitar and rocking the house.

Lorelle VanFossen, Editor-in-Chief

Host of Lorelle on WordPress covering WordPress and blogging, Lorelle VanFossen is also the author of the popular book, “Blogging Tips: What Bloggers Won’t Tell You About Blogging”. With one of the first websites on the web, Lorelle has been a web author and blogger since 1994, and works full-time as a web consultant, keynote speaker, and workshop leader on web technology, blogging, and WordPress. With Woopra, Lorelle oversees the blog and social media communication and interaction.

Lorelle has long been an editorial and technical writer, contributing and editing much of the WordPress Codex, the online manual for WordPress users, and contributes regularly to the Blog Herald, The WordCamp Report, BlogFlux, Blogger and Podcaster Magazine, Problogger, Weblog Tools Collection, 9Rules, Outdoor and Nature Photography, Shutterbug, Photo Techniques, The Mountaineer, Jerusalem Post, New York Times, CNet, and Phenomenal Women of the Web. She is frequently found in the top “whatever” list of bloggers and female bloggers in the world.

When not blogging or writing about blogging, she can be found behind the wheel of an RV traveling down the road or behind a camera taking pictures of nature and anything that will stand still long enough, even if she doesn’t.
